It's the last day of their 15th week, and although many locals are still upset with being trapped on Maccaroni Island for generations due to their CA66 DNA, most are back to everyday living. At Greench Farm Godrian has worked hard tending the crops, while his wife, Richelle, isn't very interested in farming. Instead she started a little business to export the farm produce to Galucca.
Yesterday Richelle and many other locals, finally got their new glasses. It's pretty miraculous to see everything clearly for the firs time, although others were more in need of glasses than Richelle.
Little Bonny is still just a baby, but her toddler birthday is coming closer.
This morning Richelle and Godrian walked ouside to find huge changes!
Everyone recalled that there had been a couple chilly days about a simweek earlier. Maybe it had been a warning? If that was when more of their plants suddenly died, maybe Archie should have understood the warning back then!
Archie is now 97 years old, but still going strong. He can't help much on the farm, because his aching back. But he can help with the cats. And he can walk.
A little later Archie had walked over to Military Walk, where the scientists reside. All along the roads there were a few dieing trees. Archie and Theo Tulitto have built a friendship over time.
Theo explained that his son, Pahomas, had bought some land from a local, and that they now prepared to move their house.
They stepped inside, where Pahomas was holding his son, Hugo. Linda was out.
The terrible event was connected to the pollution in Galucca, a pollution that was said to give some worker families green or purple skin, as well as a characteristic look.
Then the door flew open, and Linda walked inside.
A festival on Maccaroni Island? Archie hurried back to the farm to inform Godrian and Richelle. He could babysit, if they wanted to attend the festival.
It turned out that the so called Festival mixers were
Florence and Jack Batfield,
a couple with two kids, who arrived the island this morning. Florence seemed to be the head of their family, at least she took the word.
Again Godrian felt that the local council had no say when it came their little community's development.
Steve Freeman said his job was done, and there was currently nothing to build. Assistance could be ordered to meet future needs. Besides, both Admiral Freeman and Dr. Mahoganey would be needed in Galucca now that the climate change was a fact. Godrian was glad the weekly council meeting will find place tomorrow, on the first day of the coming week.
Kids never ask questions, they just build relations...
Richelle ran into Godrian's aunt Carie Peel. She owes them §5.000, money that are very much needed on the farm these days.
Carie Peel had borrowed lots of money to buy the Peel Bakery. There was a problem though, the Galucca Bakery Foundation required a much higher build value in order to get on with regular business. Carie had no idea before the trade was done, and now she feels tricked. She hardly makes enough money there to support her little family, but not to reduce her debts.
The day came to an end, but each festival was meant to stay for many days. Most locals wear Summer clothes, so they all left the Town Square as the night became chilly.
So, what effect will it have on their community if the climate changes totally? There will be lots to debate on tomorrow's council meeting!
Welcome to Greench Farm!
This is a The Sims 3 legacy, following the household at Greench Farm, which is part of a still primitive, but growing, community on Maccaroni Island. Enjoy the journey!
The Greench Farm story started as a SimBasic spin-off on local Week 14 Day 1.
All my stories (and more) are now gathered on my new blog, Simmerville's Sims.

Week 15 Day 2: Bad news
Sorry for the one day delay. Wednesdays are still supposed to be Greench Farm update days :-)
Today will be another packed day for the Greench Farm household! Godrian and Richelle (Yea-Low) got engaged yestersimday, and today they will get married. The new clothing store opens, and elderly Archie has a meeting with Dr. Frederic Mahagoney.
And still I did not mention that the news picture that normally opens a new post was canceled. If you miss it let me know. Community news might be posted as small, separate posts instead.
Well, Archie's meeting was quite early. The doctor wanted to talk about Eileen's health, Archie hoped it wasn't too serious. He walked down to the hospital, and was a bit surprised by meeting his neighbour and brother-in-law (still not married, though), Albert Blumington.
Archie wanted to join Albert when paying a surprise visit to Albert's brother, Alfonso Blumington. They will do so tomorrow. But Albert was too depressed to talk much now...
What could that be all about? Albert refused to talk about it. Archie walked inside, and found Dr. Mahagoney at the desk.
Dr. Mahagoney explained that all blue alien descendants were likely carriers of the CA66. They had become aware of the possibility after the first visit to the island, seeing that some locals had the blue skin tone.
Islanders with a parent that most likely carried the CA66, will be denied a health certificate. Meaning that the original Blumington couple's descendants will most likely not get access to town of Galucca.
The locals probably being infected are:
All Archie's kids: Bertil Greench, Graica G. Yea-Low, Godrian Greench, Boletta G. Wimster, and Eileen Greench. Albert Blumington, and his kids Blanca, Gabriella and Gerda. Bonita Black and Carla Black.
Alfonso Blumington.
While Archie was in the meeting, the brand new clothing store opened! The building is nothing spectacular, but sticks out as modern in this village setting, next to the Peel Bakery.
Eileen Greench, Gerda Peel, Gabriella Peel, Carla Black and Blanca Peel were over excited about it all!
All those patterns will certainly make a new era...
The blond wearing a long dress is Linda O. Tulitto, recently married to the youngest scientist, Pahomas Tulitto. Linda is the one who initiated this store, and coming from Galucca she obviously have some contacts.
A little later Linda joined them.
Eileen has an interest in fashion and style, at least she thinks it could be worth spending some time on.
A little later the girls split. Carla met her sister Bonita, to attend a meeting with Dr. Mahagoney. Gerda and Gabriella stopped by at the family's bakery.
And Eileen and Blanca walked over to the Hawk house...
Girls left. That message was clear enough, and nobody ever wants to put up a quarrel with Agnes Y. Hawk!
At Greench Farm lots of locals had gathered for the wedding. Godrian could hardly believe that the lovely Richelle wanted to marry him. They are the second couple to get married right here, the first was Godrian's parents, Bridgette and Archie, exactly one generation ago.
The expression Other World refers to any place outside Maccaroni Island.
Archie had not told Godrian the bad news yet. In fact he had not told anyone. The timing was tricky, it would totally ruin the good event...
A quick end to this chapter simply because it got too dark, too early. Bertil was right, they would have done with a few garden lamps.
A few notes before closing - most houses have a private wind mill to produce their own energy. When the street lamps were built recently, cables were buried underground, leading energy to all families. Some will keep their wind mills, because the energy delivered is rather expensive.
Just like the new clothes, very expensive. And probably the all-kinds-of-stuff store that will open tomorrow.
More next Wednesday!
