First off, sorry for not posting the announced update back in August. It took me a while to upgrade computer from my old 32 bits system, and then there was even some vacation - poor me :)
Anyways, game runs a lot better, and all building issues were also solved. I'm fit for some more reports from Maccaroni Island!
It's a quiet morning at Greench Farm. In case you missed the previous updates, Godrian & Richelle Greench decided to focus on growing pumpkins for export, and they also got some chickens.
They feel a bit stuck though, having less funds than desired, stops them from equip their rather big farmhouse. Upstairs finally got wallpapers and stuff, but the house still have lots of items that were there ever since the house was built by Godrian's grandparents, Greta and Gabriel Greench.
Godrian doesn't really care much for interior, he is more occupied with the barn and the outdoors. But Richelle comes from a little more snobby family, and she wants a better home.
Richelle and Godrian have 2 girls, Bonny and Dorina. It seems like they both inherited Richelle's normal skin, and not Godrian's green skin. Will the population of Maccaroni normalize this soon?
Richelle will soon visit Town of Galucca, that's the town that sent out the ship that found this little island community, founded by 4 stranded couples 3 generations ago.
The plan is to reorganize the field. In the past they grew 6-8 plants of every kind, but lately Godrian's aunt claimed the right to grow fruits and berries, leaving the vegetables to Greench Farm. Godrian's uncle LaShawn G. Gladiston, already specialized on grapes since long, and also Godrian's aunt, Carie Peel, grows grapes although that family focuses more on their business, Peel Café, of course.
Then Godrian's phone rang, and his friend, the young scientist Pahomas Tulitto was on.
Pahomas and his dad, scientist Theo Tulitto, have examined the volcanic mountains of Maccaroni Island ever since they came to the island. Actually, the locals learned that the island's real name is Magna Isand. A science lab was built long ago, and now the household had moved their house from the tiny lots up at Military Walk, to a much better location they bought from locals at 19 Rounder Lane. This is closer to the science facility, and much more spacious, too.
Richelle and Godrian showed up at 6 PM precisely.
Linda and Pahomas have a son, Hugo, and Linda is pregnant with their next kid.
Richelle brought only Bonny, who will start school tomorrow or the day after, while Godrian's aunt Carie was babysitting Dorine.
Then everything took an unexpected twist. Pahomas and Linda rushed inside to find old Theo dieing! That was not at all the plan, he is the one who was supposed to reveal some discovery!
Richelle is a coward, she fainted when Grim Reaper opened the door. Not once, but twice :) This doesn't really look like a nice housewarming visit...
Finally, dinner was served, Hugo and Bonny played outside, and the adults got seated in the kitchen. They plan to expand the house a little now that the lot is bigger, but one thing at the time. They were all silently eating, after all old Theo's urn was still in the house.
Hm, Pahomas didn't know who to ask. He will currently be the only scientist on the island, but there are a few inventors living in the eastern region, and maybe some other scientist can move to the island to join this work?
Need to prove the antrance? But wasn't that what old Theo had found, some entrance? Both Richelle and Godrian were confused, but Godrian agreed to assist Pahomas for a couple days. Not tomorrow, because that's when a new council meeting is up. But the day after.
They returned to the farm, Richelle played a bit with Bonny before they all went to bed.
So, we're on again! Hoping you are still around! :)
Welcome to Greench Farm!
This is a The Sims 3 legacy, following the household at Greench Farm, which is part of a still primitive, but growing, community on Maccaroni Island. Enjoy the journey!
The Greench Farm story started as a SimBasic spin-off on local Week 14 Day 1.
All my stories (and more) are now gathered on my new blog, Simmerville's Sims.

Week 15 Day 7: Climate changes
It's the last day of their 15th week, and although many locals are still upset with being trapped on Maccaroni Island for generations due to their CA66 DNA, most are back to everyday living. At Greench Farm Godrian has worked hard tending the crops, while his wife, Richelle, isn't very interested in farming. Instead she started a little business to export the farm produce to Galucca.
Yesterday Richelle and many other locals, finally got their new glasses. It's pretty miraculous to see everything clearly for the firs time, although others were more in need of glasses than Richelle.
Little Bonny is still just a baby, but her toddler birthday is coming closer.
This morning Richelle and Godrian walked ouside to find huge changes!
Everyone recalled that there had been a couple chilly days about a simweek earlier. Maybe it had been a warning? If that was when more of their plants suddenly died, maybe Archie should have understood the warning back then!
Archie is now 97 years old, but still going strong. He can't help much on the farm, because his aching back. But he can help with the cats. And he can walk.
A little later Archie had walked over to Military Walk, where the scientists reside. All along the roads there were a few dieing trees. Archie and Theo Tulitto have built a friendship over time.
Theo explained that his son, Pahomas, had bought some land from a local, and that they now prepared to move their house.
They stepped inside, where Pahomas was holding his son, Hugo. Linda was out.
The terrible event was connected to the pollution in Galucca, a pollution that was said to give some worker families green or purple skin, as well as a characteristic look.
Then the door flew open, and Linda walked inside.
A festival on Maccaroni Island? Archie hurried back to the farm to inform Godrian and Richelle. He could babysit, if they wanted to attend the festival.
It turned out that the so called Festival mixers were Florence and Jack Batfield, a couple with two kids, who arrived the island this morning. Florence seemed to be the head of their family, at least she took the word.
Again Godrian felt that the local council had no say when it came their little community's development.
Steve Freeman said his job was done, and there was currently nothing to build. Assistance could be ordered to meet future needs. Besides, both Admiral Freeman and Dr. Mahoganey would be needed in Galucca now that the climate change was a fact. Godrian was glad the weekly council meeting will find place tomorrow, on the first day of the coming week.
Kids never ask questions, they just build relations...
Richelle ran into Godrian's aunt Carie Peel. She owes them §5.000, money that are very much needed on the farm these days.
Carie Peel had borrowed lots of money to buy the Peel Bakery. There was a problem though, the Galucca Bakery Foundation required a much higher build value in order to get on with regular business. Carie had no idea before the trade was done, and now she feels tricked. She hardly makes enough money there to support her little family, but not to reduce her debts.
The day came to an end, but each festival was meant to stay for many days. Most locals wear Summer clothes, so they all left the Town Square as the night became chilly.
So, what effect will it have on their community if the climate changes totally? There will be lots to debate on tomorrow's council meeting!
