Welcome to Greench Farm!

This is a The Sims 3 legacy, following the household at Greench Farm, which is part of a still primitive, but growing, community on Maccaroni Island. Enjoy the journey!

The Greench Farm story started as a SimBasic spin-off on local Week 14 Day 1.

All my stories (and more) are now gathered on my new blog, Simmerville's Sims.

Week 16 Day 3: Spooky Day

The passing of Archie Greench the night before had kept Godrian awake most of the night. Godrian was now totally in charge of all his ideas, farm improvements and not the least, the upcoming specializing on just a few species.

Very early this morning a UFO could be observed on the Fall sky, right over Greench Farm! If someone had seen the UFO, they might have suspected the visit to regard the CA66 DNA. Were blue aliens checking on their descendants?

Everybody were asleep, even Godrian had finally got a few hours sleep, so they did not notice the activity outside their house.

At breakfast, it felt weird to be only two persons. Just Godrian and Richelle.

Yesterday Richelle had attended a meeting for bank stock owners, and some Baron Jonas Pettonta of Galucca had offered to buy some of the stocks.

They really could need some money, because they owe §15.000 to the bank, and need money for completing the house.

In addition to those orders, Richelle wanted to invite her old mom and teen sister Irena, over for dinner. She also invited a few of Godrian's siblings, to make balance.

That's right, Archie Greench was to be buried today, and Godrian contacted his siblings.

On his way to meet them at Town Square, he noticed the fruit garden trees had no leaves left at all!

Godrian, Richelle and little Bonny walked over to Town Square, and met Graica G. Yea-Low, Bertil G. River and Eileen G. Jones. Richelle didn't plan to attend the funeral, but wanted to check out the Festival. Mrs. Batfield had invited to a special Spooky Day, but the park looked all the same.

That was totally new to Godrian, and he decided to keep it secret. In a way he was glad if their dad didn't know. If he knew, he would have visited Boletta several times after she moved out, which he never did.

They walked over to the little graveyard.

As they cried, the rain kept pouring down.

They were all cried out anyway.

They all split, and a little later they arrived at Greench Farm, bringing delicious meals for the Feast Party. Godrian still disliked that Richelle was throwing the party today, but well, most of the guests had been at the funeral, and maybe it was a good thing bringing all this food into the house - there had to be some leftovers!

Godrian's granny, Bianca Blumington, had been a pretty talented painter, even running the local gallery.

Oups, a guest who wasn't really invited...? Who's this? Ah, it's the son of Godrian's uncle Cody Mayor and Richelle's cousin Rosanne. Rafael Major is obviously a teen already!  They reside in this region, but not at Greench Farm.

Shortly after, they had all left, and food leftovers were safely stored in the fridge. Richelle was a little upset over her old mom, Dorothy R. Yea-Low, lacking her memory. Dorothy had been working at the local hospital for a lifetime, and retired some time ago. Richelle wondered if dad knew? Would it change anything?

While sitting there in the study, playing chess and thinking, she didn't notice that the window slowly got frosty, and the night was set to be the coldest they had ever experienced.

The sky was clear, and temperature fell below freezing point to -3 degrees C. Plants would probably not benefit from such a cold night. So what will tomorrow bring? And how will everyone on Maccarony Island react when they wake up to freezing cold houses? There was never before need for heating, and there is not a single indoor fireplace or chimney on the entire island...

Too be continued in a short week :-)

Week 16 Day 2: Watering systems

It's still crispy, and they don't know for sure what direction these changes will take. Last night it rained for many hours, and hardly anyone on Maccaroni Island left their house. Only the Tulitto family and the recently arrived Batfield festival fixers have umbrellas.

This morning Godrian walked to the new store to check if they sold anything farm related. He was looking for ways to make farming more effective.

The store is part of the clothing store building, located next to Peel Bakery, and vis á vis the Hospital.

Today the store was pretty packed, and everyone were talking about visiting town of Galucca. Tonight the first group will leave Maccaroni Island, as a good handful health certificates were handed out to anyone except those carrying the CA66 DNA. Such as Godrian Greench.

Godrian ran into his friend, Pahomas Tulitto, the Scientist.

Godrian didn't trust the others to bring back benefits for anyone but themselves.

Reynar Yea-Low is the Inventor, and Godrian's older sister Graica is married to him.

Another of Godrian's best friends were there, Gastor Hamming.

Godrian's main errand was to stop by at the Village Hall where a gift of honor was waiting for him.

He was awarded for many years of serving the community through farming. Yamir Redward, council leader, handed the trophy to Godrian, but this time there was no audience applauding.

Back on the farm, Richelle was in the study, trying to come up with new ideas for her new business. Then she noticed Eileen's old belongings...

Godrian's youngest sister, Eileen, had moved out not long ago, and Richelle had been the one pushing it. She just wanted their little family to be on their own, not housing grown up relatives who didn't even help with the farm.

Now Richelle decided to walk over tro Eileen, giving her the forgotten items. It ws a nice day, but Richelle was of course wearing way too little clothes.

Eileen moved in with hher boyfriend Amandus H. Jones (formerly Hawk). They expanded the old shed that everyone still refers to as Joe's Shed. This is the middle of 3 tiny lots, the Scientists lived next door (but just moved their house), and the newcomers, Batfield family) lives on the third lot.

Richelle stayed for a cup of tea, then walked back to the farm.

Godrian was busy garvesing, and the new sprinklers were installed.

Just after dark, Richelle left to attend the Bank Stock Holders meeting, taking place in the Business Offices Build. Richelle owns only 10% of the shares, The other stock holders are Agnes Hawk (10%), Wvita Hedgewall (10%), Gaspar H. Blackwall (10%), Russell Stew-Fraisser (10%), Yesador Y. Wimster (10%) and finally, Yamir Redward (40%).

Late at night, there was a sad moment at Greench Farm. Nearly 100 years old Archie Greench died. He was teaching little Bonny to walk, when he felt the time was up...

Archie was born on the tiny island next to Maccaroni Island, shortly after his åarents stranded. This is all told in the SimBasic story. Now he can finally join his late wife, Bridgette.

Godrian and Richelle will face even tougher times on the farm. Even if Archie couldn't help much with the plants, he did care a lot for Bonny, and look after her all day.Looks like Richelle will need to spend more time as a mom, after all. And didn't she just vomit again?

More in about a week. Trying to catch up for next Wednesday, but the days up to Christmas will most likely fly. Please, do check back soon, anyhow! ;-)
