Welcome to Greench Farm!

This is a The Sims 3 legacy, following the household at Greench Farm, which is part of a still primitive, but growing, community on Maccaroni Island. Enjoy the journey!

The Greench Farm story started as a SimBasic spin-off on local Week 14 Day 1.

All my stories (and more) are now gathered on my new blog, Simmerville's Sims.

Week 14 Day 6: The Prom

Yesterday a new barn was built at Greench Farm, and a new Science Facility was built near the mountain. And all households of the southern region stopped by at the hospital for a medical check.

Godrian Greench was extremly happy with the new barn, and Pepper had spent the first night in his new box stall. Godrian started the day carrying some more hay up to the barn's loft, where it will dry well, and be stored. The hay is for feeding Pepper, of course. Godrian also brought a few old mattresses, he thinks of sleeping up there will they rebuild the bedrooms of the house, shortly.

Why was Pepper thinking of a flame? Had the night been freezing cold?

Godrian hurried back downstairs to let the old horse out. Maybe it got too cold when the huge doors were open all night?

He decided to take a pretty quiet day, after the hard work yesterday. He harvested a little, then he built an easel and started to paint. He is Artistic, and he always thought they should have a framed picture of the farm on the wall. Besides, he needed a hobby to relax from the gardening.

Bertil, Godrian's brother, would be over a little later to care for Pepper, and maybe they would all go over to the Pets Park, that is very close to the farm.

Yesterday some of the island's teenager girls were contacted by Linda, fiancée of the youngest scientist. She encouraged them to have a school Prom, and invited them over today to plan the event.

Eileen was one of those teens, and now she joined Blanca Peel, Gabriella Peel and Carla Black. They were all pretty excited, and Blanca was ahead of the others.

The scientists Tulitto, dad and son, had built a small house next to the shed the locals still called Joe's Shed.

In the background is the Fort Base where Yamir Redward and Russell Hamming works. The Science Facility is farther away behind the Fort Base.

Linda O'Brian opened the door, and Eileen thought her dress was totally pretty.

They walked inside, very curious to see what a home of a Galucca household looked like.

Linda and Pahomas Tulitto met at their Prom, and the girls thought that sounded very promising for their own Prom.

This was the moment they were all hoping for, seeing Linda's clothes, shoes and jewellery was as exciting as the Prom itself! Linda had found a few suitable clothes, some shoes and she decided that some old makeup would have to do. The islanders actually could buy some makeup at the hospital, but it was made from herbs and other plants, and the colours were very limited. Teenage girls had hardly requested the products sold there.

The girls chose their outfits nearly without arguing. Colours didn't necessary match, and the makeup turned out to be a tad too much on some accounts...

The islanders had been short of textiles for a long time, and Eileen's aunt Beatrice Hedgewall could hardly produce anything for the Consignment store. Most households therefore had only their old clothes, and the girls were happy to just borrow a mini skirt from Linda, even when it had to be worn with the old t-shirt.

Linda had told them that she wanted to build a clothes shop on the island, maybe in a couple days already, if the council approved.

Carla Black is pushing young adulthood, but she is still used to run about in her old t-shirt and filthy short trousers. She never owned anything as fancy as this dress, and now Linda had even suggested to tie up her rather long, black hair.

Blanca is pretty much the leader of this gang, and thought it was just fair if she could choose first among the boys. Eileen doesn't really mind, Blanca is fun to be with most of the time. But isn't Eileen even older than Blanca, actually pushing young adulthood?

At the same time the entire council had gathered in order to inspect the new Science Facility. The council had a sneaking feeling they should have raised a stronger voice much earlier. They had blindly accepted that the scientists had to inspect the volcano, but it was a little strange how they had built the facility without even asking for permission. This land was owned by the local Maccaroni Bank, meaning the few stock owners should have been asked.

They had no appointment, and maybe there wasn't much to see inside the building yet. From left to right on the picture below are Bella B. Black, Alex Yea-Low, Yamir Redward, Archie Greench and Yoseph Y. Hedgewall. Yes, Archie is to be replaced by Godrian, and Bella is to be replaced as well, but the new councillors won't be on duty until they are introduced on the next meeting (Week 15 Day 1). The natural exception is the chairman, Yamir Redward. Hm.

The main office wasn't too impressive, but there was an additional room next to it. If it wasn't for those curtains they could have looked through the window...

Pahomas Tulitto was busy, and didn't even care to look up from his computer. The councillors looked around.

Theo Tulitto told them all about how earthquakes had scared town of Galucca a year ago, and how they recently had noticed lower temperatures. Archie nodded as he recalled those chilly days.

The volcanic area was huge, covering several large districts. It was very important for Galucca, and now also for Maccaroni Island, to learn more about the activities and if they could be controlled. One way was to look for changes in the wildlife.

Bella Black, making a living from fishing up north, wanted to know if she would get better paid here than at the Market, but Mr. Tulitto didn't answer. He just said they would get paid well.

Archie thought it could actually be a good way to implement the real money into the island's local system. They had started to implement real money, but unless they sold more land they had a long way to go.

Then a person suddenly appeared in the doorway.

They had to leave, in fact there was obviously nothing more they could see anyway. Archie found the situation rather strange, and he got the impression that Theo Tulitto actually was one of them, the islanders, not quite being involved with what was going on. But it was too early to tell. Archie wanted to wait a couple days, then have a thorough talk with Theo.

Meanwhile a group of locals had gathered in the Pets Park, which is located between Greench Market (blue building) and Greench Farm. Some of the local Pets Club members often frequent this place, and normally a few locals would bring their dogs or cats. Not because their pet can't roam about at home, but it is nice for the animals to meet and maybe the owners could even plan to breed them.

Godrian and Bertil brought Pepper.

Richelle Yea-Low from the eastern region was there, chatting with her cousin Yvilla Redward from the western region.

Godrian had never heard his dad talk about horse jumping here. Normally he would have mentionned it, especially becaue they have a horse. Not that old Pepper, who hardly bothered to go for a ride, would enjoy jumping, but still...

Godrian noticed how his brother Bertil did his best to get a good dialogue with Yvilla Redward. Not that Godrian was interested in her, but he didn't want his older brother to burn his fingers, just like that. He didn't stand a chance with the Redwards, especially not now that Yvilla probably could marry some wealthy guy from Galucca.

Richelle got Godrian's attention again. If she only had been older, they would have made the most boring couple ever. Godrian too ambitious with Greench Farm, and Richelle not even smiling at someone's joke.

He liked how she grabbed his attention, though.

The Prom was supposed to start at 6 PM, but Linda knew they didn't have watches, so she had been in the room since 5 PM, and spent a couple hours teaching them a few dance moves while they waited for the last arrivals. Finally Richelle Yea-Low showed up, and the girls were sure that no more girls were missing.

After a while Amadeus Hawk and Gaspar Hedgewall appeared on top of the stairs! The party could start for real! Uhm, all these girls and just two boys?

Two more boys arrived, Jamiel Hedgewall and Grim Hawk.

Seeing theese 4 boys gathered, Eileen had a little shock realizing they are all more or less weird.

The green guy is Jamiel, Eileen's cousin, and the greenest person on the island. Everyone expects him to love gardening, just because of his plant people skin.

The guy in a white cardigan is Jamiel's brother, Gaspar. He looks pretty normal, if not a bit calculating right now.

The guy in black is Grim Hawk, the craziest son of Agnes Hawk. He is said to inherit his mom's mental health, as bad as it might sound. The way he clings to that rail pole explains only a little of his mood swings.

Finally, the guy in blue jacket is Grim's brother (some say they are half brothers). He looks even more crazy than Grim, but is actually a pretty nice guy once you get to know him.

Eileen chose to dance with Amadeus. And she actually forgot to ask Blanca for permission.

Gaspar danced with Carla Black, and the green Jamiel preferred to dance with his sister Evita in a corner.

Gabriella and Richelle danced too, witnessing Grim getting in trouble, like he often does.

And Blanca Peel, she had to dance alone. Not exactly how she imagined this night, but still she had lots of fun. These boys were kids, anyway. In a couple days she will turn young adult and start hunting the real men!

Linda took a couple pictures of the girls before the boys arrived, and with some luck she will make a copy for each of them. It was a night to remember!

Next chapter will be up in a week, and I'll try to stick to Wednesday as the Greench Farm updates day :-)
