Welcome to Greench Farm!
This is a The Sims 3 legacy, following the household at Greench Farm, which is part of a still primitive, but growing, community on Maccaroni Island. Enjoy the journey!
The Greench Farm story started as a SimBasic spin-off on local Week 14 Day 1.
All my stories (and more) are now gathered on my new blog, Simmerville's Sims.

Week 14 Day 7: Tragedy
The title "Tragedy" might sound a bit too dramatic, but it could just as well have been titled "Tragedies" - it was a very tragic day indeed! First off, one of their two cats died during the night, but it was like a minor detail compared to what should come. In the morning they found that also the old horse Pepper had been visited by Grim Reaper. Pepper was no more!
The death of Pepper naturally upset everyone, but this was still nothing compared to what was to come! They found that also Bridgette's sister, Bella B. Black, had died at Greench Farm sometime after midnight!
Bridgette was of course very sad. Most of all she wished that Bella would have died at 4 Black Heights, where she lived.
What a tough start of the day for the Over-emotional Bridgette! Her oldest son Bertil Greench, who moved out to help uncle Alfonso some time ago, had always adored Pepper.
Last night Eileen, the house's only teenager, was attending the very first School Prom on the island, and it was on time because today is her birthday! This morning Boletta and Eileen were upset too, but although Eileen got her mum's emotional trait, she was more busy with the photos from last night than to mourn over aunt Bella's death.
Linda O'Brian had already stopped by to deliver 2 photos for Eileen, and to pick up her clothes that Eileen borrowed the night before.
Since a couple generations the 7th day of the week is Family Day, and tonight the islanders will gather for a community event at Pets Field. Linda O'Brian will marry to her fiancée Pahomas Tulitto during the event! Everyone, including Boletta and Eileen, were dieing to see a bride from the modern world!
Bridgette, Archie and Eileen walked up north to show their sympathies to Bella's widower, Christopher, and the two daughters of the house, Bonita and Carla.
Christopher looked very old, even using a cane. It was obvious that Bella's death was a shock. When he was young he chose his love for Bella over the money from his parents, who cut him off.
And they found that Carla Black had grown up into a beautiful, young adult woman. And her teenage dream had not faded.
So, what made the elderly Bella crossing the entire island by feet if it wasn't to tell them something? Did she intend to warn them? Or had she just been lost, realizing it was too far to walk up north, and simply in need of shelter for the night?
The Greench Farm household had the medical check two days ago. Yesterday it was the eastern region, today the western, and finally tomorrow both households of the northern region would attend the medical check.
Boletta had visited her aunt Carie Peel, and although Carie was busy upgrading the bakery that she just bought, she took the time to give Boletta a quick upgrade, too :-)
Right now Boletta sat on the bench at Town Square, waiting for Yesador.
Boletta was slightly confused. The clothes was fine, they even made her look slimmer, but the hairdo felt even more old fashioned than her old looks.
They both went silent for a short while, until...
Ohhh? Was that all she could say? Hm, what could she possibly have answered...?
At the farm there was lots to be done. All the events last night had of course interrupted greatly with the daily routine. They had not learned that farmers will need to harvest even if someone stops by to die. Several plants had died, and there was a chance that many more plants would soon follow.
Godrian realized that he had to start a family, or he couldn't run this farm much longer. When both Boletta and Eileen eventually move out, and his parents become even older, there will simply not be enough farming hands.
A little later Archie's phone rang. Bridgette listened, and Archie's voice sounded very concerned.
They had been questioning the medical check, they knew way too little about the real purpose for it. When Archie said Eileen's name, it was like if a bubble did burst inside Bridgette. Something was colapsing, and she had no control...
Yes, it turned out that her time had come...
What a day! Grim Reaper must have stopped at their farm 4 times during the last 24 hours. It shouldn't be necessary to say that they were all shocked. Bridgette's death was so unexpected although she was 90 years old. And why did she greet "King Archie"? The answer can be found in the childhood of Bridgette and Archie [Simbasic, Week 3 Day 7].
As if this was not enough, a little later they got a phone call from Carla Black, their dad Christopher had just died! Bonita and Carla would not make it to the community event, and neither will the family Greench. They just needed to be alone at home.
Over the past couple days, the interior of the farm house has been adjusted.
Second story is now in full use, there are 3 new bedrooms in addition to the seniors' old bedroom downstairs which might still be suited for elders of the house. Downstairs the kitchen is still in the same old area, Godrian managed to get a piece of modern leafy wallpaper from Pahomas Tulitto, but some walls are not even painted yet. And there was a new door on the back side of the house, leading from the kitchen to the garden, and probably saving them lots of time in the future.
Yea, Godrian already knows.
What was supposed to be a happy day for Boletta, now going steady with Yesador, turned out to be the opposite. She had suggested to make Autumn Salad, one of their mom's favourite meals.
Cutting vegetables while crying isn't easy, though.
They sell most of the harvest, but everyday a few items are put aside for their own consume.
The barn was darker than normal, and Boletta couldn't see the vegetable crates. The building felt very empty now that Pepper was gone, it was almost as she could still hear the old horse breathing. But why was one lamp turned off, and another removed from its nail?
Could Godrian have placed the crates upstairs, to save them from wild animals?
Yes! There they were, and the lettuce looked fresh and lovely!
But what was that? A weird sound...?
Boletta hardly turned around before...
Boletta was certain that her life had come to an end!
In the kitchen a little celebration was coming up...
Yea, quite an absurd setting while Boletta was probably fighting for her life over at the barn, and they all were still mourning several deaths.
Eileen grew up to a pretty good looking woman! Another hairdo and she'd look even better... just noticed she still is wearing some makeup from the School Prom...
They decided to serve the food even if it wasn't completely prepared.
Archie hated walkinhg the new stairs, and he was glad he could still sleep in the old bedroom downstairs. But if Boletta behaved weird, she obviously needed someone. If only Bridgette was still around, she was the one to deal with this sort of things...
When Archie reached Boletta's bedroom door, she refused to let him in.
More in one week - Wednesday is the Greench Farm day! :-)
