Welcome to Greench Farm!

This is a The Sims 3 legacy, following the household at Greench Farm, which is part of a still primitive, but growing, community on Maccaroni Island. Enjoy the journey!

The Greench Farm story started as a SimBasic spin-off on local Week 14 Day 1.

All my stories (and more) are now gathered on my new blog, Simmerville's Sims.

Week 15 Day 1: Engagements

Today the last region will stop by at the hospital for the medical check, and hopefully there will eventually be given out health certificates to everyone who looks forward to visit town of Galucca.

Godrian Greench was on his way to the Village Hall where the council meeting takes place on the first day of a new simweek. It's his first meeting, and he got a little info passed on from his dad, Archie, but Archie also wants Godran to make his own impressions. He walked by the Pets Field that was upgraded yesterday.

This location is simply a rather big community lot where many locals bring their dogs and cats to meet and mingle. Except from a tiny corner with some facilities, the lot was not organized - until now. A rather big red stable has been built under Yamir Redward's command. He runs the island's only ranch, and now it will be much easier for anyone who wants to sell, buy or breed their horses, as they can do so here at Pets Field.

[The green door is a modified equestrian center replacement - available here].

Godrian ran into the grown up Richelle Yea-Low, visiting with her siblings Yesador and Irena.

Godrian knew he had a weak spot for Richelle, and he thought she looked very good. Should he try to impress her?

Was that something more than an invitation? Godrian probably blushed a little, and we all know how bad that looks on green'ish skin :-)

Up to now time was referred to daylight, but when they all got modern cell phones, they quickly learned AM and PM.

The council meeting started, and this is the first meeting run by Yamir Redward. He is the son of former western representative, Randal Redward, and like his Father, also Yamir is set to be the chairman. Godrian doesn't like him that much, but is totally fine having Yamir as the leader - you just can't like everyone the same.

Poor Bonita Black, yesterday both her parents died of old age (her mom, Bella, was not listed on the news board by mistake). Bonita is the new owner to 4 Black Heights, and her sister Carla lives there, too.

Godrian had to talk for the first time in the meeting, and he was a little nervous.

He hadn't prepared for this, it was kinda strange hearing his own voice in the council chamber. Should he look at just Yamir, or should he talk to them all? Did he talk too loudly? Well, he is both Hot-headed and Neurotic, so it took a while for him to totally relax, but he did just fine.

What? Horses only? Were the Redwards about to grab the community lot, to use it to support their ranch? And what more should be built there, why couldn't Yamir just tell them more? But instead the subject was changing.

Admiral Steve Freeman is obviously in charge of the entire delegation that arrived from town of Galucca some time ago. First they said they wanted to inspect the volcano, then they surprised the former council by building a huge Science Facility. They also started to build new stuff without asking for the council's approval. And for four days the entire population had been commanded to do a medical check...

Yoseph Y. Hedgewood, all to the left, represents the local bank owners. When the community was founded and land was shared between the original 4 families, also the bank stocks were more or less equally shared. Since then some stocks have changed hands, and the current list of owners looks like this:

Randal Redward: 35%
Yoseph Y. Hedgewall: 20%
Yesador Yea-Low: 10%
Richelle Yea-Low: 10%
Russell H. Russ-Fraisser: 10%
Agnes Y. J. Hawk: 10%
Yamir Redward: 5% (and waiting for his Father's 35%)

Ha, I just realized that all stock owners currently resides either west or east.

This was actually too much for Godrian to deal with. Not everyone being allowed to access Galucca? He didn't know of anyone being sick, in fact the entire population had always been pretty healthy, except the crazy Agnes Hawk, but she was mentally ill. Admiral Freeman also mentioned there would be more builders? How much more did they need to build? The population is still rather small...

After the meeting, Godrian met with his closest relatives at the graveyard. Bridgette B. Greench died yesterday, and now she was burried. All her adult kids were there, and also most of her siblings.

[We won't attend each and every funeral in the future, just those strictly connected to the farm.]

It was very tough on Archie, not only did Bridgette die first, but she is now buried in a grave where there is already reserved space for Archie, too! Must be kinda creepy standing on your own grave, Archie!

A few moments later, they had been through a quick ceremony. The Greenches are quite down to earth, and wasting hours on a grave seemed meaningless when there was lots of work to be done on the farm and elsewhere.

Graica is married to Reynar Yea-Low, and Dr Frederic Mahagoney rents a room in their house, very temporarily.

Graica was not the only one wanting a word with their dad. Bertil, who lives temporarily up north, had news to share.

Bertil moved west the same night, perhaps to impress his soon-to-come father-in-law by wishfully befriending the mysterious glowing horse!

Boletta had a pretty tough day after the shocking event on the barn loft last night. She felt bad, but made it to the funeral. Now she tried staying indoor, and just seeing the barn made her shiver. She had not told anyone what actually happened last night, and she had not brought any food to the brutal builder today, like he had commanded her to do. Through the window, she had observed him stealing crops in the garden.

She hardly dared to walk out alone to feed the cat.

Oh, had all the builders run away? Boletta knew there were 3 of them, so where were the other two building guys hiding? Last night the brutal builder had threatened Boletta that if she told anyone where he was hiding, he would kill her! So, she couldn't really pronounce anything anyway, but slowly she anxiously pointed...

A little later Admiral Freeman returned with the builder, connected by handcuffs. Boletta had ran inside, and Archie, who just walked outside, had no idea what was going on.

No, he doesn't seem like the good guy...

After the funeral Godrian had walked south, to Maccaroni Beach. He was not quite sure what beach Richelle had meant, there is also a small beach in Sunrise Valley where she lives. But he saw her immediately, standing there gazing at the horizon.

Well, this view is facing south, and the sunset is definitely lovelier seen from the western region. But still, the sky slowly changed colours as the light dimmed.

One thing lead to another, before Godrian knew it, they both sat down on the old piece of timber.

Awww...

Back on the farm, Archie was done tending some potted plants when it got to dark to work outside. Then Yesador Yea-Low appeared.

Quite a gentleman!

Well, we do know Boletta's answer, don't we? She finally knew that Yesador saw her as a spouse, and everything was great, if it wasn't for her worries about last night and her sudden need to sleep and throw up, all day long.

On the beach Godrian was convinced that everything was planned for him and Richelle. It felt like they had known each other for ages, and well, in fact they had. Even with a little sparkle of desire, hidden somewhere inside.

Will the wedding be tomorrow? Will Richelle move in at Greench Farm tonight?

Archie felt pretty much like a leftover being. Actually he just waited to die, he knew the time would come soon. Kids moving out, and the last one, Eileen, reaching young adult. The farm had too few farming hands, and he knew he could not help much longer. Although the farm would suffer, it helped to see that most of his kids actually got happily married.

Boletta left the farm with her fiancée Yesador. They decided to build a new home at 14 Redward Elysee, a lot that Yesador just inherited. Because there are already 2 Yea-Low households on the island, he had decided to take a new last name, Wimster, after his granddad Yespar's granddad.

Then Archie went to bed, while both Godrian and Eileen were still out.

More next Wednesday!
